Eurotech Aluminium Castings has commissioned a new straightening booth and nine new grinding booths in its aluminium sand foundry. The introduction of a fully enclosed, sound insulated booth for straightening work has significantly improved the work environment within the foundry, where there has been a significant drop in noise levels. The nine new grinding booths are sound insulated and also have an easy-to-operate screen on which the most recent grinding instructions can be pulled up. This represents another step towards assuring product quality. There have been a number of benefits associated with the introduction of the new grinding booths, including a big improvement in the grinding workstations. The booths were presented along with the new Fastems machining system during the Open Day on July 10th.
