Professor John Campbell from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom specialises in castings.

John Campbell has applied the low pressure casting method to hard sand for years. John Campbell visited the Eurotech foundry in September 2009 and emphasised the advantages that low pressure casting have to offer to clients. He particularly pointed out that in addition to a greater tensile strength, other mechanical properties such as elasticity and fatigue resistance are improved even more, often by more than 100% compared to sand casting by gravity. Those major advantages cannot be achieved with gravity casting and are automatic benefits resulting from careful counter-gravity filling of moulds.
